Signs You Need Drain Jetting

  • Slow draining sinks, baths or toilets.

  • Gurgling noises from plugholes or drains.

  • Bad odours coming from drains.

  • Recurrent blockages despite DIY efforts.

  • Water backing up in manholes, gullies or outside drains.
If you see any of these, drain jetting is often the most effective next step.

What is drain rodding?

Drain rodding uses a long, flexible metal rod that an engineer pushes into the pipe to physically break through or pull out the obstruction. It is quick, low cost and perfect for simple, local blockages close to access points such as trapped hair, wipes or compacted debris. Rodding does not clean the pipe walls — it removes the immediate blockage but leaves scale, grease and roots largely untouched.

What is drain jetting?

Drain jetting uses a specialised hose to deliver a powerful, high pressure water stream into your pipework. The force breaks up obstructions and flushes debris through the system, leaving pipes clean and reducing the chance of repeat blockages. For more complex jobs we can combine jetting with vacuum extraction for a thorough clean.

Amazing service!

Roman very kindly gave his time and experience to help us deal with a terrible experience from a rogue trader. He reviewed CCTV footage and explained what would have been a reasonable and fair (in contrast to what happened to us). I’m incredibly grateful to him. I will certainly choose him for a good, honest local service in the future. Thanks, Roman!

First time I’ve used Drainblock

Roman was brill. Top class. Great communication, excellent work and knowledge , and fairly priced. Having hired many, many trades as a landlord and holiday let owner I can say I really wish they were all this easy to deal with

Jeff Hillier

What a professional service

10🌟’s, top of the range equipment, absolutely knows his profession.
Unbeatable quality not only for this but for very affordable costs. Thank you Roman for not making a drama out of a crisis. ❤️

Drain Jetting FAQs

Most domestic jobs are completed within an hour or two. Larger systems or heavy root ingress may take longer.

When carried out by trained engineers using the correct pressures for the pipe type, jetting is safe and effective. We always inspect first and adjust our approach to suit older clay or fragile drains.

We aim to work from external inspection points where possible. If internal access is required we’ll agree timings with you beforehand.

Jetting can remove root intrusion in many cases and clear the immediate blockage. For extensive root damage we may recommend a targeted repair or lining after inspection.

Yes. We handle both domestic and commercial drain jetting, and can combine jetting with vacuum tankers for heavy duty cleaning.
